I Love Ugly re-releases jewellery lookbook after claims of sexist advertising

Causing a stir.

I Love Ugly’s debut men’s jewellery collection has certainly gained the internet’s attention.

The provocative campaign caused quite a stir after its release last week, with claims that it used women’s bodies as props and is sexist.

In light of the backlash, the New Zealand-based company has responded by releasing two campaign images that reverse the gender roles of the original campaign.

In a since-deleted Twitter statement, the company said, “Mixed reviews about our latest ring campaign. Some love it, some hate it. If you’re nervous about something. You’re onto something good.”

Many are claiming they’ve completely missed the mark. What do you think?
