Josh Goot goes into voluntary administration

Shed a tear for Australian Fashion.

Shed a tear for Australian fashion today. Sadly, the incredibly well-hyped designer Josh Goot (who also happens to be the partner of Vogue Australia’s Editor In Chief) has gone into voluntary administration. A surpising announcement was delivered from the designer last night, who has been dubbed “Modernism’s new Messiah” by Harper’s Bazaar.

Goot believes this is a necessary step to save the ten year-old business, which has dressed Australian beauties like Mia Wasikowski, Miranda Kerr, Lara Bingle, and international stars like Kim Kardashian.

In a press conference, Goot said of his company, “It’s something we believe in, something we stand for and it gives us a future.”

His Sydney and Melbourne stores will remain open for the moment, and this decision will not impact the release of the AW15 line, or runway show at the 2015 Melbourne Fashion Festival.

Fingers crossed this move will save Tiffany & Co.’s Young Designer of 2005, because we definitely don’t want to see these clean, bold, Australian pieces disappear.
