RIP Joan Rivers.

Joan Rivers was a pretty enigmatic character.

Getting her start in 1965 on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson, she developed a sense of humour that stirred up a lot of controversy. In 1986 she became the first woman to host her own late night talk show—The Late Show with Joan Rivers.

Best known for her stand-up comedy and co-hosting Fashion Police, Joan’s satirical humour about celebrities and politics was divisive. To some, she was truthful and tough; to others, she was gossipy and personal.

Nevertheless, she made an impact on the world. To the woman who joked about her own plastic surgery, who knew how to rock a coat, and who didn’t take it all too seriously.

RIP Joan Rivers.
