There’s a whole lot of sustainable fashion events happening in Melbourne this week

Be humble.

There’s a whole lot of sustainability-focused fashion events going down in Melbourne this week.

Starting the discussion around the need for a more conscious approach, the program is delivering a number of workshops and talks around sustainable fashion.

It’s all being run by CTF Curated (the collective supporting local fashion talent), who are currently holding an independent label pop-up in St. Collins Lane.

Here’s a rundown of what’s going on.

Build a Sustainable Wardrobe Talk with A.BCH

Sustainable fashion is all the talk right now, so why don’t you hear it straight from the mouth of an industry insider? Listen to Courtney Holm of A.BCH discuss the process of building a sustainable wardrobe. From reworking existing pieces to shopping from local labels, you’re in for an earful of thought-provoking and outfit-mastering dialogue. What’s more, you can even redeem the cost of your ticket on the night at the St. Collins Lane pop-up store.

When: Thursday June 1, 6.30pm-9pm
Where: St. Collins Lane, Melbourne

Capture Me with Vincent Li

Think of this event as an elaborate game of dress-ups. Head to the CTF Curated Pop-up and dress in Vicent Li creations. You’ll have Melbourne-based photographer Harry Milward on site, ready to capture your outfit and all your ‘gram worthy poses.

When: Friday June 2, 11am-9pm
Where: St. Collins Lane, Melbourne

Care – Repair – Wear 2.0 by A.BCH

The Make Do and Mend movement of WWII clothes rationing is back for 2017. Care – Repair – Wear is championing the revival of your broken favourites, offering a workshop on practical clothing alteration skills. Learn to sew on a button, fix a ripped hem and stitch up a hole. Your mum will be proud, and so will we. There’ll even be a drink on arrival and a gift for showing up. It’s an intimate one, with a maximum of 15 people. Be sure to secure your spot by purchasing a ticket.

When: Sunday June 4, 1pm-3pm
Where: St. Collins Lane, Melbourne

As well as the ticketed events and workshops, the event series will also include bespoke fittings by appointment with Scott Benedictine.
