This secondhand pair of Vans is selling for $1,500
Exxxy.
An 11-year-old, secondhand pair of shoes is selling for $1,500. Cue heart palpitation.
Listed on online menswear marketplace, Grailed, is an uber rare pair of Raf Simons x Colette x Comme Des Garçons x Vans shoes.
Let’s get this right. Colette, the three-floored Parisian clothing and accessory retailer, collaborated with Japanese fashion giant, Comme des Garçons. Logos from Belgian menswear designer, Raf Simons, were then used to create the slip-on with American brand, Vans. Talk about worldly.
The shoe was designed for the 2005 opening of the Colette x Comme Des Garçons store in Japan, with only 100 ever produced.
The slip-ons feature graphics from Raf Simons’ S/S 2003 Consumed collection, with the logos ‘Refuse’, ‘Expendable’, ‘Chaos’, ‘π’ and ‘Amnesia’.
With the box included, the unworn pair of slip-ons is museum-worthy. Apparently.
So if you’re a US women’s size 6, dip into your savings and invest in a one-in-a-hundred pair of shoes.
