For its latest collab, Havaianas has teamed up with Danish label Rotate on a series of limited-edition thongs

As we put winter behind us, it’s time to start thinking about brighter, warmer things. Picture, if you will, sun on your skin, a healthy slathering of sunscreen and days spent outside with fewer than six layers of clothing on.

This also means it’s time to bust out that icon of Australian summers – a good old-fashioned pair of thongs. Havaianas is getting in the mood by collaborating with Copenhagen-based brand Rotate on a new three-piece collection, available exclusively online. The collab combines Rotate’s high-glam vibe with the laidback Brazilian spirit of Havaianas.

Havaianas’ Global Marketing VP, Mafê Albuquerque, says of the release, “Partnering with such a cool fashion brand as Rotate helps us to reinforce our brand essence. Havaianas is more than a thongs brand; it represents a free lifestyle and way to express ourselves.

It’s about time that thongs moved from the beach to the streets and had a high-fashion moment in the spotlight, and pairing them with the unique style that’s synonymous with Denmark is an unexpected yet inspired twist.

The limited-edition, worldwide drop includes three styles of Havaianas’ comfort-forward classics, all inspired by the bold palette of Rotate’s Spring Summer 2022 collection. Rotate’s signature colours of hot pink and vibrant green are contrasted with a chunky black logo at the toes, perfect for pairing with more understated summer dresses to achieve a careful blend of outgoing and casual.

The collaboration is rounded out by a third pair of thongs in a dark python print, finished with green straps and yellow branding. Each pair also features Havaianas’ signature rubber sole and both brands’ logos on the straps.
