A week in work outfits with the Co-Founder of HoMie, Marcus Crook

Expect printed hoodies, cosy knitwear, sportswear-inspired pieces and Jordans on heavy rotation.

Working in a creative role, it can be difficult to know how to dress for the day. Instead of having a set uniform of crisp white shirts and tailored black pants (as much as I love both), an ever-changing schedule means every morning requires a set of questions. Am I running around, or just sitting at my desk? Do I need to dress specifically for a project? And most importantly, will I be in the background of someone’s TikTok?

As Co-Founder and Creative Director of Melbourne not-for-profit streetwear brand HoMie, Marcus Crook’s wardrobe is essentially a rotating selection of his own designs and experiments for collections to come.

On a mission to support those young people affected by homelessness or hardship, 100 per cent of HoMie profits go towards creating positive change. The brand’s inclusive streetwear is colourful, comfortable and always unique – HoMie’s latest Reborn collection, made in collaboration with Disney, features over 100 one-of-a-kind pieces.

Monday

This is our Champion x HoMie collab jacket it’s reversible, so you can swap it up if you want to spark things up with the colourful camo… versatile and impactful! Great combo.

Tuesday

Love my new Rsport x Woat jersey, [it’s] full soccer vibes now with the World Cup on, which I’ll be watching most nights. We also have a collab with Rsport and Australian Matilda Alex Chidiac launching very soon for a special cause. Stay tuned.

Wednesday

Having access to sewing machines, embroidery machines and printing tools in the warehouse is super fun, and I’ve been testing and trying things for upcoming collections… this being one of them! [I] paired [it] with some fun pants and our HoMie scarf, which sold really quickly thanks to all our customers.

Thursday

Ellen and I always rock up with the same outfits on, and today was no different. I think every single staff member has one of these knits. They are so comfy. [We’re] looking forward to releasing a few more and a vest for AW next year!

Friday

The sun popped out for five seconds so it gave me a chance to wear my new DocG shorts! [This] jumper was another one I painted and embroidered, testing things for next year.
