Natasha Oakley collaborates with Nasty Gal on a ‘Pretty Woman’-inspired collection

Words by Fashion Journal

Bringing Julia Roberts to the beach.

Nasty Gal has collaborated with Australia’s very own Natasha Oakley for a huge 30-piece summer collection.

Oakley is as close as it gets to a certified bikini aficionado, having founded the A Bikini a Day blog and her own swimwear label, Monday Swimwear.

So it’s fitting that she had a hand in this range, which includes both swimwear and everyday clothing.

The collection’s colour palette is an homage to the film Pretty Woman, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary next year. Julia Roberts’ iconic polka dot tan dress has been reimagined as one-piece swimsuits and a bikini, with your choice of either classic or statement necklines.

To compliment all those spots, you’ll find other suits and separates in shades of tan, peach, black and white. Pieces worth noting including a one-piece with a dramatically plunging neckline as well as a couple with romantic, asymmetrical frills.

Nasty Gal’s line is designed to carry you right through a summer day, accommodating whatever sun-soaking activities you’ve got planned. So, in case you need to cover up on your way to and from the water, the release includes a capsule of daywear in the same warm palette.

High-waisted pants are available alongside crop tops, skirts and wrap dresses, amped up by details like bell sleeves and sheer textiles.

These silhouettes are clearly inspired by Natasha’s personal style, with a breezy femininity similar to what you’d see scrolling through her Instagram.

“Your style is a reflection of your personality,” she explained in a statement. “This collection is for the super feminine, confident girl that chases the summer sun and lives for a warm summer night!”

If you too want to look like you’re headed to the beach at any given moment, you can shop the Nasty Gal x Natasha Oakley collection online now. Styles from the release range from size 4-24, with prices starting at $56.
