Paname Jungle is a Melbourne-based boutique promoting the work of ethical jewellery designers.
The name comes from the 100-year-old slang name for Paris, representing the boutique’s connection to Parisian culture and design.
Paname Jungle supports artists regardless of their location, forming eclectic collections that cross borders and cultures, in a celebration of colour and craftsmanship.
The result is a mix of traditional African and European designs, inspired by the best parts of many contrasting cultures.
The designs are truly unique, with artists using materials like secondhand beads, African wax fabric and old magazines to form their creations.
Paname Jungle’s founder, Camille, originally opened the boutique after kick-starting the Melbourne community MakeSense, a not-for-profit organisation to help social businesses implement their initiatives.
From the choice of recycled materials to fair work conditions, Paname Jungle is promoting ethical standards in contemporary jewellery.
