Spotlight on: Spherule Designs
You’ll never find another like it.
Spherule is the scientific term used to describe a small sphere. It also happens to be the name of a Melbourne-based handcrafted jewellery brand.
Taking inspiration from twilight landscapes and tribal patterns, Spherule’s pieces are made using polymer clay. Each bead begins as a prism or sphere and is then manipulated into various forms, usually in black and white.
As a result, every piece of jewellery is uniquely shaped and often combined with feathers, semi-precious stones and metals.
Owner Bronwyn Shipway has had a fascination with jewellery and the way in which people wear certain pieces since she was young.
“I think it is so cool that something as simple as a small round bead or a polished piece of rock when combined in certain ways creates object of beauty.”
Not only has Spherule recently dropped a new collection PRISM, the label also has an online store launching this month.
