Everything I wore during Copenhagen Fashion Week

Photography and words by Bella de Almeida Reis

Scandi style through the eyes of a Melbourne fashion girlie.

Fashion week is not for the weak! Back home, I work for PayPal Melbourne Fashion Festival, so my turn attending as a guest at Copenhagen Fashion Week might sound like a breeze but as I found out, you still need to be on your A-game.

With a stacked diary of runways and presentations, pop ups and showrooms, I was running (or cycling) across Copenhagen for four days straight, hoping to catch as much of the excitement as possible, while staying present.

I’m so grateful to travel across the globe to experience many vibrant events filled with rich creativity, endless people-watching and really good outfits. As for my outfits? I had no idea what I was wearing until two hours before I left the house each morning. Here’s what I pulled together with pieces I packed and bought at the last minute.

Monday

To start the week, I previewed Agmes Jewellery’s new collection at Mr. Larkin in Frederiksberg, then killed some time vintage shopping before meeting a friend for lunch at Orsa. My first Danish breakfast plate did not disappoint – I highly recommend you try if you’re visiting Copenhagen – and yes, the afternoon involved more shopping to elevate this week’s wardrobe rotation (successful purchases made!).

I wore my Bassike long sleeve (purchased from Swop), Kowtow culottes, Après Studio thongs, a secondhand Tod’s bag, a crochet bonnet (gifted from a friend), and very old Asos ballet flats.

That night, I changed for the launch of the OpéraSport x 1664 Drop 2 collection. An evening of beers, dancing, new friends and getting absolutely drenched in the rain.

The top is secondhand by Malene Birger (purchased earlier that day), P.A.M. cargo jeans, Arket flats, A. Kjærbedes sunglasses and a Brie Leon bag.

Tuesday

I clocked some serious kilometres on my bike, I swear I know the whole city now. First stop was the Pandora gifting suite to help shoot some content for my sister. Then it was on to Taus’ presentation (a CPHFW New Talent) in a dreamy backyard where models softly walked around the space. The sun really showed up for us that day.

From there, 66 degrees North celebrated their 100th anniversary with an exhibition on their sustainable manufacturing and lifetime-lasting jackets. Out of the city again, then back for Another Aspect’s collab with NYC’s Scarr’s Pizza and local Melbourne favourite, Ellie’s Table. Delicious pizza was served!

I wore a secondhand Zara top (purchased a week prior), culottes from Fitzroy Markets, a slouch handbag from Lost and Found Markets, and a chunky belt from Vos Vintage, bought the day before.

Wednesday

I didn’t leave the house until I’d watched the newest episode of The Summer I Turned Pretty season three with my sister and brother in law. Spoilers hit TikTok too fast to risk it (IYKYK).

I got dressed in a Boii Studios shirt and Ess.Bee pinstripe suit shorts, Cos socks and Asics x Cecilie Bahnsen sneakers, then I rushed to Stem’s presentation and workshop, not realising the workshop was part of the runway. I sat at a long table learning how to weave a plate while models circled in beautifully structured garments. Weirdly, it was both stressful and calming.

For dinner, I went slick with an almost-matching suit, silver hardware and glasses. Dinner at Bottega Barlie (best meal I’ve had in Copenhagen so far) rolled into a Naked x Adidas party. The cool weather was perfect for layers, until I hit the mosh pit and stripped down to my singlet – honestly ideal for big dance moves.

Outfit details: a secondhand blazer, a Nofunovic shirt, a David Jones belt, Skin + Threads trousers, Arket shoes, a Brie Leon crossbody bag and Bailey Nelson glasses.

Thursday

A slower start to the morning as the lack of sleep was catching up to me. I took myself out for a late breakfast and coffee at Hart Bageri (bakery) ahead of my last show of the week: Marimekko. Their runway was placed in a pared-back industrial space to allow their whimsical, powerful prints to shine. Expect lots of colourful stripes and flowy silhouettes in their next collection.

Afterwards, I popped into Reseller CPH’s Souvenir Shop party with free-flowing drinks and branded merch (couldn’t say no to a tote bag). I finished the night with a Japanese feast at Sticks’n’Sushi – I devoured this instantly, ready for a long rest.

I wore a b.Eautiful long sleeve shirt and Magasin du Nord jeans, my trusty Asos flats, a secondhand bag from Lost and Found Market and Le Specs sunglasses.
