Upside-down shorts are the latest in stupid denim trends

Inspired by ‘Stranger Things’.

Just when we thought we’d seen the full extent of weird denim designs, a New York City-based vintage label has gone and turned traditional denim on its head.

Taking cues from Stranger Things’ Upside Down, CIE Denim has unveiled a series of inverted jeans and shorts.

Each flips an existing pair of jeans upside down, forming a new high-rise waist with hidden zip. The original belt loops, waistband and pockets are then featured around the legs.

The shorts come in two washes, aptly named El and Nancy, while the full-length styles have been dubbed Lucas, Mike and Will.

And while the functionality of upside-down pockets is yet to be decided, we have to admit, these pants are the least offensive of the strange denim trends we’ve seen of late (read: inside-out denim, thong jeans and detachable shorts).

Shop them here, if you’re keen.
