AS TOLD TO DAISY HENRY

“The sky might be dark but that doesn’t mean we have to be scared of wearing colour.”

Graphic T-shirts deserve a special spot in anyone’s wardrobe. Whether it’s an old band or a brand’s logo emblazoned on the front, it’s like the cooler, older sister to your plain white tee.

One local label that has well and truly mastered the art of the graphic T-shirt is Exotic Import. Known for its boxy silhouette, bright colours and large fonts, Exotic Import was launched seven months ago by Tali Zevi, the co-owner of Who Boutique in Melbourne.

“Exotic came to life shortly after I met my partner Harry in 2024, who is a graphic designer,” Tali says.”I always felt like I was missing something in my wardrobe, which was graphic T-shirts designed for women.”

Utilising her dad’s skill as a screen printer, Exotic Import’s T-shirts are created entirely in-house. From design and production to displaying and selling at Who Boutique, it’s Melbourne-made, through and through.

Whether you’re packing light for a trip away or looking to streamline your weekly wardrobe, Exotic Import’s graphic T-shirts are designed to be an easy and reliable uniform staple. To see how the label maximises the T-shirt’s versatility, we challenged Tali to show us how she would style it over a typical week.

Work

Who said workwear had to be boring? For a day in the office, we’ve paired our baggy tee with some basic blue jeans, a heavy leather coat (because Melbourne is freezing) and a kitten heel to elevate the look.

Coffee

Move out of the way, activewear. We’ve levelled up our ‘let’s go grab coffee’ outfits with a pair of jeans, loafers and a baggy graphic T-shirt.

Date night

We’re obsessed with the T-shirt over shirt look here at Exotic Import! Here’s our version of a date night look to be sure you’re the coolest girl at the wine bar.

Market

Sundays are for the market and for comfy clothes, so we’ve paired our boxy T-shirt with our pink wash track pants and some sneakers. The sky might be dark but that doesn’t mean we have to be scared of wearing colour this winter.

A Travel day

Travel days are stressful enough – your outfit should be on point, helping you to feel as put together as possible.

Whether its a long-haul flight or a car trip, we find a matching grey set is always a win. Here we’ve paired our boxy T-shirt with our grey yoga leggings (not to be worn for actual exercise, of course) and a heavy leather jacket because she won’t fit in our suitcase.
