Take notes.
I couldn’t begin to count the mornings I’ve spent wrapped up in a towel, sitting on my bed staring at my wardrobe in search of inspiration. Sometimes an outfit will come to me without pause. But other times, I require backup when it comes to creative styling
When I’m feeling truly aimless, I usually turn to Pinterest for some kind of spark – whether that’s a silhouette I’ve never thought of, a colour combination I’ve never tried or a new way of styling an accessory.

Although curating a moodboard can be a great exercise in finding your personal style, there’s something to be said in bypassing the algorithm and going straight to the source. In these moments, I’ve started to discover the fun in stalking my favourite stylists when I’m having an ideas drought.
Part of a fashion stylist’s job is to be across both emerging and established designers, their time often split between researching, pulling samples, editorial shoots and staying ahead of the curve. Naturally, their feeds are wellsprings of sartorial creativity.
Though it’s not easy to narrow it down to a singular list, here’s a round-up of some of our favourite local stylists to follow for a daily dose of outfit inspiration.
Monica Morales

Readers of FJ’s print magazine will already be familiar with Monica’s work. Based in Sydney, Monica was part of the team who brought our Be There in Five shoot to life, as seen on the cover of Issue 198. With a knack for bright colours, bold patterns and out-of-the-box silhouettes, her work is perfect for summertime dressing.
Tabatha Turner

We recently became acquainted with Tabatha Turner’s work after attending St. Agni’s Resort ‘26 runway earlier this year. Splitting her time between Sydney and Paris, Tabatha’s page is a masterclass in harnessing the power of neutral colours and fabrics.
Shamillar Manhika

We’ve long admired the work of stylist Shamillar Manhika. In a profile earlier we published earlier this year, she described her approach to getting dressed as a way of “romanticising life”. Since first stepping into the fashion industry, her perspective has evolved, with her focus now centred on blending her African heritage, bold textiles and ancestral stories into her work.
Thalea Michos-Vellis

Her instagram page acts as a (very stylish) window into Thalea’s day to day, whether that’s attending a fashion week runway, a brand campaign or her daily errands. Expect a kaleidoscope of local labels, bright colours and texture clashing.
Marisa Suen

We’re all ears when it comes to Marissa’s recommendations, whether she’s making the case for the Vibram FiveFingers shoes, or sharing her favourite errand bags (perfect for carting all her essentials from set to set). If Marissa swears by it, it’s on our radar.
