Australian artists are opening their homes for live tours thanks to the NGV

Explore the homes of some of Australia’s most fascinating creatives.

Seeing inside the homes and studios of creatives we admire is always fascinating. Luckily for everyone who’s homebound and itching for their art fix, The National Gallery of Victoria (NGV) has launched virtual in-studio visits with some of Australia’s most revered artists and designers.

All artists and designers included in the lineup have exhibited at the NGV or are in the NGV Collection, and the lineup includes Sydney artist Agatha Gothe-Snape, furniture designer Mary Featherston AM, artist and curator Lisa Waup, musician and artist Jon Campbell, multi-disciplinary artist Darren Sylvester, Melbourne lighting designer Christopher Boots, and contemporary artist Yhonnie Scarce.

The series will run throughout May and June and will provide viewers with an insight into the artists’ lives and practices during isolation, as well as their artistic processes, current ideas and influences, and their perspectives on creating.

You can catch the live in-studio visits on @NGVMelbourne’s Instagram Live every Wednesday at 6pm or take them in at a later date on-demand on the NGV Channel on the NGV’s website.
