Casey Donovan will host the Aussie version of ‘Catfish’

Coming to Channel 10’s pilot week.

One of the best TV shows to come out of MTV, Catfish, is getting an Australian series.

Set to premiere as part of Network 10’s Pilot Week, Catfish Australia, will follow a series of everyday Australians who have become suspicious of their online relationships.

Stepping in for US hosts Nev Schulman and Max Joseph is Casey Donovan, who has seen somewhat of a career turnaround in the past few years – most notably winning I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!. She’ll work alongside documentarian Patrick Abboud in order to uncover the truth behind each online profile.

Donovan is a fitting host who, like Schulman, has been a victim of catfishing. The former Australian Idol star revealed in 2014 that she’d fallen in love with a man named ‘Cambpell’, to later find out he didn’t exist and had been invented by her friend Olga.

Catfish Australia is set to premiere as part of Network 10’s Pilot Week (‘coming soon’) alongside I Am…Roxy! and Sydney’s Crazy Rich Asians.
