IKEA will now buy back your old furniture

Words by Fashion Journal

No need to disassemble it, either.

The Swedish furniture giant has announced a circularity initiative, the IKEA furniture buy-back service.

You can now return your old IKEA furniture back to the store to be sold to a new owner.

The initiative is part of IKEA’s goal to become 100 per cent circular and climate positive in its operations by 2030, and is expected to save up to 15,000 pieces of furniture from landfill each year.

What’s more, customers will receive a gift voucher in exchange for their items, dependent on the value of the goods.

You can find out the buy-back value of your furniture here.
