Levitating plant pots are here to bring some magic to your home

Spooking your house guests 101.

It turns out, you don’t need wizardry or witchcraft to make things levitate.

Hovering planters – which suspend and rotate your plants in mid-air – are perhaps one of the trippiest finds to come out of Amazon. A decorative pot holder is designed to float above its wooden base, thereby confusing everyone that walks past.

Though we wish there was just a little magic involved, the pots are merely an illusion and work using magnetic force. Which means there’s some set up involved.

For the magnets to work, you’ll need to carefully centre your plant on top of its base. You’ll also want to make sure that you remove the pot before turning it off. Otherwise, things could get real messy.

If you’re in the market for a desk plant, this small levitating iteration should be a nice fit. There are also some bigger sizes available, and hand-painted ceramic variations.

The only catch is that you’ll have to supply your own greenery. But we’re guessing you’re already accustomed to a fortnightly plant shop.
