Gender-neutral emojis are coming in the next Apple update

All-inclusive.

Back in July, Apple announced it would be releasing 56 new emojis in a forthcoming iOS update.

With a focus on making the little images more representative of society, there was an icon of a woman wearing a headscarf and a breastfeeding emoji.

But it turns out the release will be more inclusive than originally thought, with Apple HQ giving us a second look at what’s to come.

The next update will include a series of gender-neutral emojis, representing a child, adult and senior.

We’ll also finally get a ‘shh’ emoji, plus dinosaur, giraffe, broccoli, orange heart and more clothing options. The American Sign Language gesture for ‘I love you’ has also been added.

The new emojis will be available with iOS 11.1, available soon.
