This artist takes Renaissance figures and drops them into modern life

Classic to contemporary.

We’re pretty partial to any type of creative art, and our newest fave comes from Ukrainian artist Alexey Kondakov. And no, it’s not a Disney-themed series for once.

Alexey lifts figures from Renaissance paintings and places them in modern photographs. His series The Daily Life Of Gods is a mashup of the classic with a modern, urban landscape.

The result is pretty fantastic, with classic figures riding the bus and hanging out in the subway.
