One company is now hiring applicants via Snapchat

NB: Not us.

We know firsthand it’s pretty hard to get your foot into the door of the fashion industry, even with FJ Careers at your disposal.

And we know you know you need to do something special to stand out from the pack. But have you considered applying via Snapchat?

According to Everlane, making a Snapchat story might just be the “best way to get hired in 2016.”

Yup, we know. Wot.

But the online retailer is putting its money where its mouth is, asking prospective employees to apply for jobs by posting a 60-90 second Snapchat story.

Once posted, applicants are asked to then tweet the company their unique Snapcode and save the story to later email to the company direct.

After Instagram and Facebook, Snapchat is said to be the third most popular social networking platform for 18-34 year olds, with over 30 million active users. With this being said, it makes sense for companies to harness the platform as a means of reaching out to their audience.

Everlane isn’t the first company to use the app in creative ways, with GrubHub using Snapchat to find a summer intern earlier this year. Heineken also used the app to produce exclusive content for their followers at Coachella.

While our biggest Snapchat dilemma is whether to use the dog or flower crown filter, soon it may be deciding which lighting makes us look the most professional.

The future could see more and more companies resort to the platform as a means of hiring for a position, as they can really get a sense of how a person presents.

But for now, definitely the dog filter.
