Selena Gomez loses her spot as the most followed person on Instagram

Passing on the crown.

Selena Gomez has been the most followed person on Instagram for a pretty long time. Not anymore, though.

It’s not another singer or actor who’s knocked her off her throne, but football player Cristiano Ronaldo.

At last count, there was around 14,000 followers separating the two, with both celebs sitting at a pretty 144 million.

Of course, Gomez probably doesn’t mind, since she’s still on the social media break she started back in September.

Mood lol (I was looking at myself in the mirror -like an idiot!) Update: taking a social media break. Again. As much as I am grateful for the voice that social media gives each of us, I am equally grateful to be able to step back and live my life present to the moment I have been given. Kindness and encouragement only for a bit! Just remember- negative comments can hurt anybody’s feelings. Obvi.
