If you’ve ever sent yourself broke buying smashed avo brunches, this could be the perfect way to set your bank account right again.

Four universities in America are conducting a study on whether eating avocados can help you lose weight.

‘The Habitual Diet and Avocado Trial’ will require subjects to eat one avocado every day for six months, or less than two a month for six months.

Although avocados contain the highest fat content of any fruit, they’re filling and ward off unhealthy cravings. The study will investigate whether this can lead to healthy weight loss.

Each uni – Loma Linda University, Penn State, Tufts University and University of California – is looking for 250 participants over the age of 25.

On top of a daily dose of avo, at the end of the study each subject will receive $300 and an extra 24 avocados to enjoy – if they’re not sick of them yet, of course.
