WIN: $500 to spend at Naked Wines

WORDS BY MAEVE KERR-CROWLEY

And take home a little extra just for entering.

While we’re all safely tucked away in our houses, we’re feeling particularly grateful about the fact that you can have just about anything your heart desires delivered right to your door.

And because solitary nights at home are made significantly better by a good drink, we’ve teamed up with Naked Wines to give away vouchers for you to shop online.

One lucky winner will score a $500 voucher to stock up their drinks cupboard. But the best part is you’ll also get a $100 voucher just for entering, so you really can’t lose. Note terms and conditions apply.

While a lot of alcohol delivery services have popped up in recent years, Naked Wines sets itself apart by partnering with independent winemakers from Australia and New Zealand. The company works with 57 local makers, which you can easily filter on the site by popularity, rating, country or wine type.

The platform is also changing the way that consumers and winemakers interact. Both parties can leave comments on the site, with customers able to directly ask questions about certain wines and winemakers able to provide updates on their process and new vintages, straight to consumers.

And while anyone can find themselves a bottle and have it delivered to their door, Naked Wines has set up its ‘Angels’ program to really benefit both winemakers and wine drinkers. Angel members credit their account with an adjustable and refundable $40 every month to spend across Naked Wines, with the added benefit of receiving up to 50 per cent off the retail price.

The benefits are then passed onto Naked Wines’ winemakers, too. By paying in advance, Angel members help to fund these independent winemakers in producing new and exciting wines. You can find more information on the Angels program and how to sign up here.

It’s no secret that many industries are suffering because of COVID-19, and the wine business is no different. While many of us are probably drinking a bit more than we were in January (oops), many independent winemakers are struggling in a world without the restaurants and bars that made up most of their sales. Others are too small to sell to supermarkets or larger liquor stores, and some depend heavily on tourists coming directly to their cellar doors.

To help out as much as possible in this time of crisis, Naked Wines has set up a Covid Relief Fund of around $7 million to be granted to struggling winemakers around the world. Both existing and new Naked Wines’ winemakers are able to get on board.

So far, the brand has received over 200 applications for its financial support, and is busy testing samples as we speak. This will mean an expanded offering for Naked Wines customers and Angels, and a new avenue for those most affected.

In the meantime, you can claim your $100 Naked Wines voucher today by entering your details below.
