Dark pop queen CXLOE releases ‘Sick’

Words by Ruby Staley

Move over Billie Eilish, there’s a new sad girl banger.

After securing her spot at this year’s Falls Festival, CXLOE has added another catchy single to her repertoire.

Having amassed over 16 million global streams, the Sydney and LA-based artist has been crowned the next big thing in pop.

In her new track ‘Sick’, the young star blends notes of electronic, pop and alternative with the ease of a veteran.

The single features LA artist Gnash, who you might recognise from popular radio track ‘I Love U, I Hate U’ and New Zealand producer Sam McCarthy (aka BOYBOY).

“‘Sick’ is about loving too much and never wanting to show it,” CXLOE shares in a media statement. “It’s about never having that middle ground or normalcy within yourself because your emotions are extremes of each other.”
