Exclusive: Aphir releases new single ‘The One You Bet On’

Embrace the unknown.
Melbourne artist Aphir has just dropped her latest single, an atmospheric track called ‘The One You Bet On’.
Aphir is the solo project of songwriter and engineer Becki Whitton, whose previous EPs have gained her praise as an electronic innovator.
As well as writing and mastering for a number of Australian artists, Aphir has performed her own music on tour with acts like Japanese Wallpaper, Banoffee and Kllo.
Melding the artist’s expertly mixed beats with her soft, pleading tones, ‘The One You Bet On’ is all about a universal fear of the unknown.
“When I wrote this song, I was thinking about how I’d like to have the resources to be genuinely helpful when the people close to me are scared about the future,” says Whitton. “I think it’s hard to get to that point when you’re feeling uncertain about how things are going to turn out for you as well – writing this song was a kind of therapy for that confusion.”
