And dropping her debut EP.
Local DJ Luen is celebrating the release of her debut EP by sharing her skills with other aspiring musicians.
This summer, as well as catching Luen on tour, female and non-binary DJs can head along to one of her free, inclusive workshops around the country.
The goal is to offer a crash course to those who haven’t been allowed easy access to the industry, with classes covering both technical skills and industry tricks she’s learnt first-hand over the years.
Luen’s first workshop of this kind was held in Sydney back in 2018, and booked out completely within five minutes. Since then, she’s taught more than 1,000 women and non-binary people how to DJ.
“I’m excited that this tour will be an opportunity where the female DJ community expands every time I leave another city,” Luen said of the initiative in a statement.
Luen’s self-titled EP is a nostalgic release drawing from ’90s rave culture and warehouse techno, and will be available from October 31.
