‘Amy Winehouse: A Family Portrait’ is coming to Melbourne next month

Just around the corner.

Earlier this year, we reported an Amy Winehouse exhibition was coming to Melbourne.

That exhibition is now just around the corner, taking place at the Jewish Museum of Australia in St Kilda from October 22.

After touring Amy Winehouse: A Family Portrait globally since 2013, the St Kilda location will be the only place in Australia to host the exhibition.

It will provide unprecedented access to Amy’s belongings, including her guitar, record collection and iconic outfits supplied by the Winehouse family.

Amy’s brother Alex worked with the exhibition curator to develop the content of the exhibition, which focuses on Amy’s Jewish roots, family life, adolescent and her early career. Alex has also written captions alongside each piece of memorabilia, which will be juxtaposed with essays Amy wrote at age 14.

The exhibition will open from October 22, running right through to March 25, 2018.
