Banoffee is back with her first single in almost two years

It’s been a while between releases for Banoffee.

Today, the singer/songwriter/producer released ‘Ripe’, a track that’s far less introspective than her past releases.

Moving away from her Melbourne roots, Banoffee headed to LA to seek a change of scenery and a fresh creative start.

“Working in new places forced me to try new techniques and approaches to writing – ‘Ripe’ came out of that,” she says.

“I wanted to make something that made my tongue itch like when I smell salt and vinegar chips, like grazed knees or sucking lemons.”

It’s giving us ’80s pop vibes but there’s a definite dark, textural undertone that we love.
