Got $2000 lying around? Cool, you can spend it on Dior’s new skincare product

Too poor for Dior.

If you were given $1,550, what would be the first thing you would do with it? Pay your rent for the month? Go on a holiday? Buy 750 things on the McDonald’s loose change menu? Pay the six parking fines you keep forgetting to dispute? These are all viable suggestions.

What you probably wouldn’t do is spend every last dime on a single skincare product. As beauty companies begin to roll out their Autumn 2016 lines, Dior has created its most lavish item to date.

Titled ‘Prestige La Cure’, the three-step treatment system is set to hit shelves in September and retails for $1,550 USD. That’s over $2,000 AUD people.

This is made even more ludicrous by the fact the whole set is intended to be used over the course of three weeks.

“Each of the three bottles are [sic] designed to work together over a timespan of three weeks, in order to create incredible results,” Dior says of the product. “Week one resets the complexion, week two renews and week three perfects.”

So what’s with the ridiculous price point? Well according to Dior ‘scientists’ the formula is ‘highly advanced.’ Whatever that means.

I don’t know about you, but if I’m spending over one thousand dollars on a vile of skincare, it better make me glow like Beyoncé for the rest of my goddamn life. I want it to seep into my genetics so that even my children feel the benefits of the $1,550 I have lashed out.

If you’re like the rest of us mere mortals, blowing this kind of money on skincare is just a little out of reach. To find an alternative, you can check out the much cheaper and incred skincare products we have reviewed here.
