How it feels

Let me begin by saying I am a big fan of cream eyeshadows. I love how you can apply one shade to the eye, blend out in 30 seconds and look like you’ve made maximum effort. If you’re attuned to the beauty world, you will know that Charlotte Tilbury’s cream eyeshadow pots are among her most famous products. To be honest, this product does live up to the hype. The formula is stellar, it’s creamy, buttery and lasts on the lid all day. The colour pay-off is amazing, but I do think the colours show up differently on the eye than they look in the pot, so I would try before you buy to ensure the colour is definitely what you are after.

Why I like it

The easy blend and beautiful formula are why I will continue to use these shadows. The Tilbury formula boasts a water-infused technology that allows for a cooling effect and easy application so that the product glides on to even the most difficult eyelids. Further, the formula contains Vitamin E for hydration and soft-focus illumination pigments to ensure a smooth application. The other highlight of these products is the finish on the eyes – they aren’t too metallic or sparkly, but rather a bright finish that gives the eye a stunning sheen and solid colour.

Areas for improvement

I think you can find other really great cream eyeshadows for a much lower price point. Maybelline’s Eye Tattoo pots can give you a similar finish with a little more blending work. Shadow sticks from Mecca Max and Laura Mercier are also great options that will give you a stunning finish, for a fraction of the price.
