How it feels/smells/looks

In case you didn’t know already, I am a BIG fan of the Hourglass powders. I genuinely think they are the best in class. The formulas are soft, buttery and blend seamlessly into the skin and most importantly, they never look cakey. I have repurchased the trio and individual powders time and time again, but I was yet to take the plunge and splurge on the limited-edition palettes. I haven’t for two reasons – I thought I had the products covered in my collection already, and secondly because of the price point. This palette though has been a surprise and one I CANNOT put it down. It features two blushes, two setting shades, one bronzer and one highlighter – it’s the full package for a makeup complete look.

Why I like it

Initially, I was worried about the appearance of the shades in this palette. But again, I was wrong. Hourglass colours usually look quite different on the skin than they do in the pan, and the blushes in here are no exception. They actually work really well with most makeup looks and are very wearable. I love how I can use one palette to set my face (and undereye), bronze the skin, blush and highlight. There’s not one shade in there I wouldn’t use and it’s a fantastic travel companion. I really like the setting powder shade ‘Diffused Light’ which has a slight yellow sheen to help combat redness and the shade ‘Euphoric Strobe Light’ which is the perfect everyday highlighter. I think this is definitely worth the money and it’s a great Chrissy gift – to yourself and or someone else!

Areas for improvement

My only gripe with this product is the pan size – I find with the bronzer, in particular, it’s really hard to fit my brush in easily. I would love to see them slightly increase the size of each pan to make brush application easier (and also give us more bang for our buck).
