The best Dyson Airwrap dupes, according to internet reviews

Words by Fashion Journal

How do the most popular Dyson Airwrap dupes stack up?

To be an It Girl in 2025 seems to require one of two hair styles: a slicked-back bun or loose, mermaid-esque waves achieved by a Dyson Airwrap. I once heard someone describe the Dyson Airwrap as “the PS5 for girls” – a pretty accurate comparison if we’re talking gendered, must-have gadgets over $600.

The game-changing product, launched by the British company back in 2018, has slowly taken over the prised hair tool of Millennials (the ghd straightener) and earned a spot on practically every woman’s bathroom shelf (or Christmas wishlist) thanks to its magical ‘Coanda’ hair-wielding abilities and the promise of minimal heat damage.

And while Gen Zs on TikTok might appear to be the largest customer base, forking out $849 AUD for the latest Dyson Airwrap isn’t exactly affordable in the current cost-of-living crisis. In lieu of the real thing, the search for (and marketing of) ‘Dyson Airwrap dupes’ only continues to grow, with thousands of TikTok users trialling different versions of Airwrap knockoffs.

The latest Dyson Airwrap i.d. (pictured right) will set you back $849.

From the $280 Bondi Boost Everlast Airstyler, to the viral $6 Kmart heatless curling socks and the $400 Shark FlexStyle, there’s now a long list of more affordable options promising similar results to the Dyson Airwrap.

And while there’s a lot to unpack about the ethics of dupe culture, if you have no problem saving some coin in your pursuit of softly bent waves, these are the best Dyson Airwrap dupes, according to internet reviews.

The best rated Dyson Airwrap dupes

Why people love it: “The round brush provides the hair with some serious volume, and the ceramic coating on the barrel evenly distributes heat for long-lasting curls.”

Cons: Unlike the latest Dyson Airwrap, you have to manually swap between left and right curling barrels.

#3: Bondi Boost Everlast Airstyler System

Izzy, after using the Bondi Boost Everlast.

Price: $280

Description: A six-in-one hair dryer and multi-styler with curling barrels, two round brush attachments, an angled dryer and a concentrated dryer nozzle.

Why people love it: “It’s just like a curling iron, except this technology does the work for you.”

Cons: Both tools include six attachments, but the Bondi Boost only includes one size of curling barrel. Curls don’t last as long as a Dyson.

Price: $70

Description: A hair dryer and styling system in one product. Comes with four attachments, including two curing barrels, a styling concentrator and oval brush.

Why people love it: “A worthy Dyson Airwrap dupe with three heat settings, powerful airflow, frizz-smoothing ionic technology and a large barrel curling tong that can be used to create voluminous blowouts.”

Cons: Not a multi-styler like the Dyson – doesn’t come with a hair dryer or round brush attachements, just the air-powered curling barrel.

#6: Kmart socks

Maryel, after using the heatless sock method.

Price: $6

Description: Soft fuzzy socks, used to wrap around damp (almost dry) hair and worn overnight for a heatless curl.

Why people love it: “This method was, without a doubt, the most comfortable heatless styling method I’ve ever tried.”

Cons: Can be tricky to learn how to wrap and tie the socks properly. Won’t give you the same polished perfection you can get from a Dyson Airwrap.
