ghd’s new straightener will adjust its temp based on your hair type

Words by Nicole La Ruffa

The perfect heat for your hair type.

It may be time to upgrade your styling tools for something a bit more new-age.

This September, ghd is launching the world’s first smart straightener. Alas, a styling tool that can actually predict the temperature that your hair needs.

Dubbed the ghd Platinum+, it’s programmed to recognise the thickness of your hair, the section size and speed at which you’re styling,  adjusting its power accordingly. The perfect heat won’t exceed 185 degrees, which is the safe-for-hair temperature. That means no more sizzling your ends, people.

It also boasts the quickest ever heat up time, at just twenty seconds.

The ghd Platinum+ will retail for $340, available in salons and online.
