Top Three: These are the products Australian makeup artist Rosie Kalina always repurchases

WORDS BY CAIT EMMA BURKE

Beauty woes begone!

I’m a notoriously nosy person when it comes to products. I want to know whether you double cleanse at night, and if so which cleansers you use. I want to know if there’s some special hair contraption or pair of tweezers that have (hyperbole warranted) changed your life. I want to know what curl definer you use and which lip balm you swear by.

But my interest in products doesn’t just pertain to the world of beauty – I’m always eager to hear about an air fryer that someone loves so much they’ve convinced their entire extended family to get one, or a laptop stand that’s corrected their posture and improved their quality of life by at least 25 per cent.

In short, I j’adore products. This is why I’ve asked some of our favourite Australian beauty and skincare influencers for their top three products, AKA the products they simply cannot live without. The scope is broad – it can genuinely be any three products, as long as they’re the three they value the most.

Next up is Wemba Wemba and Gunditjmara woman and makeup pro, Rosie Kalina. With a devoted following of almost 50,000 on Instagram, Rosie creates mesmerising looks that pop with colour. Read on for her top three beauty recommendations.

Product one: Vaseline

How did you first discover this product?

It’s something almost everyone has in their house and something that I’ve been using since I was a kid – one of the most versatile and incredible products ever: Vaseline!

What is it/what does it do and why do you love it?

I use it every night over my moisturiser to seal in my skincare and focus on where ever I get most dry patches on my skin as I have eczema – it keeps my skin glowing, supple and soft. I also put some through my eyebrows whenever I’m not wearing makeup to make them look groomed!

Where can we find it and who would you recommend it to?

You can find it at any pharmacy or supermarket, and I’d recommend it to anyone and everyone.

Product two: Lancôme Teint Idole Foundation

How did you first discover this product?

Years ago, when I was first starting out in my makeup artistry career and I landed a job at a Lancome counter, where we had to wear the products. Ever since Teint Idole has been my all-time favourite foundation.

What is it/what does it do and why do you love it?

It’s a perfect, buildable coverage and works with my skin type – it’s the perfect combination of matte and satin. It never fails me.

Where can we find it and who would you recommend it to?

You can get it at Adore Beauty, Sephora, David Jones and Myer, and I’d recommend it to anyone looking for flawless, buildable coverage.

Product three: Ardell Duo 2 in 1 Brush Lash Glue

How did you first discover this product?

I discovered this one only last month on my latest trip to Priceline and thought I’d try something new and I am so glad I did!

What is it/what does it do and why do you love it?

It becomes tacky on the lash strip quickly, is so easy to apply and actually keeps my lashes on! I’m obsessed.

Where can we find it and who would you recommend it to?

You can find them at Priceline and other pharmacies, and I’d recommend it to anyone who uses false lashes.
