WORDS BY CAIT EMMA BURKE

The best of the best.

I’m a notoriously nosy person when it comes to products. I want to know whether you double cleanse at night, and if so which cleansers you use. I want to know if there’s some special hair contraption or pair of tweezers that have (hyperbole warranted) changed your life. I want to know what curl definer you use and which lip balm you swear by.

But my interest in products doesn’t just pertain to the world of beauty – I’m always eager to hear about an air fryer that someone loves so much they’ve convinced their entire extended family to get one, or a laptop stand that’s corrected their posture and improved their quality of life by at least 25 per cent.

In short, I j’adore products. This is why I’ve asked some of our favourite Australian beauty and skincare influencers for their top three products, AKA the products they simply cannot live without. The scope is broad – it can genuinely be any three products, as long as they’re the three they value the most.

Next in line is Australian beautician and influencer Maddie Edwards. If you’re after Maddie’s skincare and makeup expertise, then listen up! Here are her top three.

Product one: ZitSticka Killa Patches

How did you first discover this product?

ZitSticka reached out to me in 2019 because they wanted to work together, and I was originally hesitant because there are A LOT of pimple patches out there, and few actually do what they claim. So I asked if I could trial them before committing to a collab… and here we are, as dependent as ever!

What is it/what does it do and why do you love it?

The ZitSticka Killa Patches are pimple patches with little micro darts on them! So when you press the patch onto your skin, the micro darts dissolve and deliver all of the blemish killing ingredients into your pimple. It sounds gross but the technology is amazing and it seriously works! Sometimes I can feel a blinder coming up, so I pop one of these bad boys on asap and leave it on for as long as I can, and upon removing the patch, the pimple is nowhere to be seen!

Where can we find it and who would you recommend it to?

You can get your hands on them at Priceline, or they have an Aussie online store which is new! They’re going to be perfect for anyone who experiences blemishes at all. So I’m going to say, everyone. Find it here.

Product two: Foreo Luna 3

How did you first discover this product?

I’m so embarrassed about this one. I actually picked up my Foreo Luna 3 at a Sephora Showcase in 2019, and it stayed in my bathroom cupboard for a few months before I’d even tried it… I’ve got super-sensitive skin so I was really scared to use a cleansing device in case it irritated my skin. Anyway, everyone raves about Foreo on Instagram, so I finally decided to try it, and OMG, so mad at myself for not incorporating it into my routine as soon as I got it.

What is it/what does it do and why do you love it?

It’s a silicone cleansing device that uses T-sonic pulsations to get rid of dirt and impurities. I haven’t gone a day without my Luna 3 since trying it and my acne-prone skin is loving me for it. My pores are so clean and my blemishes are far less frequent and severe in comparison to before I discovered this baby.

Where can we find it and who would you recommend it to?

Foreo is stocked at lots of beauty retailers. Sephora, Adore Beauty, Mecca, you name it! The Luna comes in different colours for different skin types, so it’s perfect for anyone who wants super clean skin. Find it here.

Product three: Ciate London Dewy Blush in Coconut

How did you first discover this product?

I’m obsessed with blush. I think it’s my fave makeup product. I also love a good cream product. So the second a new cream/liquid blush is launched into the beauty sphere, it’s immediately in my cart. These Ciate London Dewy Blushes came to Mecca last year and I was PUMPED to try them.

What is it/what does it do and why do you love it?

These blushes are like a gel/balm hybrid AND the pigment lasts. I feel like with cream blushes, they either dry down and feel crusty or powdery (which is not a look when it grips to the eczema on my cheeks), or they stay dewy, but when you check the mirror a couple of hours later, you may as well have not applied it. These ones are PERFECT! They’re also formulated with hyaluronic acid, which is super hydrating. They’re honestly like tinted lip balms for your cheeks.

Where can we find it and who would you recommend it to?

I got mine from Mecca! I recommend them for anyone who loves that glossy, glass skin vibe. If you’ve got dry skin, you’re going to fall in love, but maybe not if you’re a bit oilier. All of the shades are so much fun, but Coconut is my favourite. Find it here.
