Role Description
The Communications Manager will work in the Communications arm of the business, driving day-to-day activity of press management, KOL programming, event management and client management. The Communications Manager brings a deep understanding of the Australian media landscape and acts as the custodian of The Known Agency brands and their relative representation in market.
The Communications Manager works independently end to end as well as within a team environment. The Communications Manager is a clear communicator with excellent attention to detail, project management and organisational skills.

The Communications Manager is responsible for building a strong rapport with The Known Agency’s clients and act as both a leader and hands on project manager, across all functions of the communications department.
Key Responsibilities
- Master a strong understanding of each brand’s pillars and objectives. Strive to meet agreed KPI/Targets to maximise Brand coverage
- Profiling, Media Release & Media Kit dissemination, proactive pitching to highlight new Collection Drops, Icons/Best-Sellers, and Brand Stories/Collaborations. Meet monthly targets for all initiatives to maximise Brand Mentions
- Manage all media requests/opportunities in a timely manner
- Manage KOL paid partnerships from briefing to delivery
- Oversee KOL gifting campaigns
- Execute Brand Collaborations and Sponsorship Initiatives
- Support Retail Marketing Initiatives
- Media pitching and collaboration opportunities
- Establish new Media/Influencer/Agent Relationships and nurture existing ones
- Oversee and continuously contribute to the TKA Media/Influencer Database. Build targeted lists for dissemination
- Event Management and Projects – manage, oversee and execute the production of all client media events, and event partnerships such as Australian Fashion Week
- Support the Director of Communications across client Communications initiatives
- Staying abreast of celebrities travelling to Australia and competitor activity in market
KEY SKILLS
- 4+ years of experience in Public Relations at a fashion, beauty or lifestyle agency
- Excellent Attention to detail and forward strategy/problem solving
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, ability to multi-task and react to shifting priorities while adhering to deadlines
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Work, Excel, PowerPoint) – Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite is a bonus
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Deep understanding of the Australian media and KOL landscape
- Great relationships with media, talent and agents
- A creative flare to conceptualize and execute strategies
- Confident in managing brand features with media and clients
- Experience managing a team is a bonus
