Role Description
ZIMMERMANN has an opportunity for a highly enthusiastic Design and Development Assistant to join our Accessories and Lifestyle Team.
This role will assist with the development of Zimmermann multi-category accessories for Ready-to-Wear, Swim & Resort and capsule projects from initial idea through to bulk production.
Key Responsibilities
- Sending and tracking couriers.
- Organizing & cataloging all samples and swatches.
- Administration of the vintage archive (physical and digital) for all accessories and footwear items.
- Assisting with initial sketches and specs for footwear and accessories collections
- Collate pantone references for seasonal materials
- Coordinate strike-offs and lab dips and follow up with comments for printed and woven fabrics and leather
- Maintain seasonal design boards and presentations for all footwear and accessories ranges plus adhoc projects.
- Prepare for meetings by printing any assets to be discussed or collating physical samples.
- Coordinate sales sample ranges for seasonal range review meetings, styling days, wholesale
- appointments and brand and content assets according to seasonal Critical Path key dates
- Complete sample comments in PLM for P1, P2, SMS, PPS, and Bulk stages
- Maintenance of seasonal WIPs for both Development and Production teams in PLM.
- Finalise technical specs for PLM and supplier use.
- Ensure supplier WIPs are up to date with costing information for initial style set up in PLM
KEY SKILLS
- Completed a degree or tertiary course in Fashion and previous experience working in a similar environment
- Strong illustration and technical drawing abilities
- Have strong attention for detail and a knowledge of high-end accessory finishes.
- Be exceptionally well organized and methodical.
- Be able to combine both creative and technical skills.
- Able to work under pressure to tight deadlines.
- Details oriented with good technical garment and fabric knowledge especially for Trim, Stitch and Wash
- Strong computer skills particularly with Illustrator, Photoshop, Outlook, Internet Research, Excel, and some experience with a production computer system like PLM.
