Role Description
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Design + Production manager to join our team in Chinderah, northern NSW. This key position will play a pivotal role in our design department, working closely with our team to develop seasonal collections from concept through to final production. The ideal candidate will have an eye for detail, a solid understanding of garment construction, and strong organizational skills. As a Design + Production Manager, you will lead the development cycle, ensuring that all design and production milestones are met efficiently and to the highest standards. You’ll be responsible for creating technical packs, managing garment fitting, and liaising with suppliers to ensure the quality and accuracy of our collections.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Packs & Specifications: Create and maintain detailed and accurate technical packs, including visual POMs. Ensure all garments meet specifications from sampling through to production.
- Fit Sessions & Quality Control: Lead fit sessions with the design team to ensure that the quality, fit, and finish of garments are of the highest standard.
- Communicate fit comments and adjustments clearly to suppliers to ensure precision in production.
- Production Coordination & Critical Path Management: Monitor and manage the team’s progress on the critical path timeline to ensure all deadlines are met.
- Liaise with offshore suppliers to address any sampling/production issues or discrepancies.
- Costing & Negotiations: Obtain and prepare SMS and bulk costings from manufacturers. Negotiate with suppliers to achieve target margins while maintaining product quality.
KEY ATTRIBUTES
- Technical Expertise: Strong technical understanding of fit and garment construction.
- Skills & Experience: Proven experience in design and production management, with a keen eye for detail. Strong proficiency in Excel and Adobe Illustrator.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet tight deadlines. Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
- Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Able to clearly communicate with suppliers, designers, and production teams.
- Personal Attributes: Highly organized with excellent time management and multitasking skills. Ability to stay calm and focused under pressure.
