Role Description
We have an exciting opportunity for a Social Media Coordinator to join The Commons Team based in Melbourne!
The Social Media Coordinator is a hands-on role responsible for the creation of high-quality visual assets that enhance our brand and support broader marketing objectives, responsible for shaping the company’s online presence and building relationships with customers and influencers. Being able to capture a moment, and telling that story on social media, are the ingredients to be successful in this role.
This is an exciting position. The ideal candidate should be highly organised, creative, and passionate about social media and digital marketing. You’ll be able to work across all The Commons locations and travel interstate to attend events and capture content. Your typical day will be structured but this position will occasionally require you to work flexible hours including evenings or early morning to be present at events. You’ll need to have a strong eye for detail and aren’t afraid of socialising, to capture our members and showcase our events, with the inclusion of producing live social media content. You will be reporting to the Marketing Manager, whilst working closely with the Marketing Department.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute a results-driven social media strategy
- Shoot conceptualisation and production including photography and videography of The Commons spaces, team and members
- Travelling between The Commons locations to capture content from events
- Plan, shoot, edit and produce still and video content for our social media channels and blog
- Assist in the creation and editing of written, video, and photo content
- Attend events and produce live social media content
- Maintain a unified brand voice across different social media channels
- Monitor social media channels for industry trends
- Interact with users and respond to social media messages, enquiries, and comments
- Review analytics and create reports on key metrics
- Assist in the development and management of social media marketing and influencer marketing strategy
- Work closely with the Marketing Manager to assist in various areas of marketing
KEY SKILLS
- 2+ years of experience in a Social Media role and or Marketing
- Preferably a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, Marketing and/or Communications or other relevant fields
- Passion for social media and proficiency with major social media platforms and social media management tools including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Tiktok
- Proficiency with video and photo editing tools, and digital media formats
- Adobe Suite, with the inclusion of Photoshop, Illustrator, Lightroom and Premiere Pro preferred
- Ahead of trends in the digital content and social media space
- Strong copywriting and copy editing skills
- Must be a good storyteller
- Impeccable oral and verbal communication skills
- Impeccable time management skills with the ability to multitask
- Detail-oriented approach with the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
