Role Description
The Production Assistant plays a key role in supporting the Production Manager and collaborating with the Design team in upholding the company’s standards and ensuring timely delivery of seasonal collections. This position involves a wide range of responsibilities, including but not limited to garment production and sample preparation.
The role requires a proactive individual capable of working both independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on meeting objectives, managing time effectively, and contributing to the successful release of each new collection.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing samples and product development and production process
- Communicating with vendors on timing and action
- Maintaining time & action calendar for pre-production samples, lab dips, bulk fabric approval, and lab testing
- Tracking adjustments made at weekly garment fittings
- Entering and updating purchase orders
- Liaising with international suppliers on orders and all production and packaging requirements
- Liaising with shipping company re logistics, including tracking of container shipments and air deliveries
- Responsible for creating seasonal product catalogue/ line-sheets
- Coordinating and dispatching packages to offshore suppliers
KEY SKILLS
- Minimum of 1 years of experience in a similar role
- Strong technical, fabric, garment construction and quality control knowledge is essential
- Excellent time management skills, ability to manage a challenging workload and meet tight deadlines
- Prompt action and good eye for details
- Excel & Microsoft Word knowledge is essential
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
