Back and better than ever.
American Apparel is planning a return to bricks and mortar, with the opening of a flagship store in LA.
The location was once home to the biggest American Apparel store in California. According to reports, it will reopen at a slightly smaller size.
“We’re opening one and that’s going to be like a test model store for us, and then we’re going to see where that takes us in the future,” Gildan Chief Executive Officer Glenn Chamandy said in an interview.
“We either could franchise, we could open a couple more, we haven’t decided yet.”
The physical store will aim to complement the brand’s reinvigorated e-commerce operations, which recently relaunched back home in Australia.
Who knows, maybe we’re on the brink of an American Apparel renaissance.
