Well, I’ve got good news for you.

Always wanted recognition for your keen fashion eye and designing skills?

Well here is your chance, because entries for the 2020 Westpac Private Emerging Fashion Designer Award have officially opened.

The award aims to support Australia’s emerging fashion designers with financial support, as well as invaluable advice and mentoring. Previously open only to womenswear and unisex designers, the award now accepts menswear designers.

For 2020, the total prize has grown to the value of $120,000, which will equip the winning participant with everything they need to push their emerging label to the next level.

To help you get the business side of things off the ground, the prize includes a $10,000 cash grant, financial planning, legal advice and two years of business advisory, strategy, and accounting services.

The winner will also produce and style a designer lookbook for Vogue Australia, with makeup by Linda Jefferyes, and hair by Toni & Guy Australia who will provide access to its team for two major fashion events, two lookbooks or editorial shoots, a year’s worth of hairdressing and a year’s worth of label.m hairdressing products.

It doesn’t stop there.

To get your name out there, the winner will also be awarded a one-year subscription to Flaunter and two mentoring sessions with two fashion industry icons, as well as Emirates  Business Class flights for two to any one of Emirates’ destinations on their Europe network.

It’s the chance for an emerging designer to get their business off the ground and take their name international.

An expert panel of industry judges, including Edwina McCann, Editor-in-Chief of Vogue Australia will select three finalists based on their business acumen, design capabilities and sustainable practices, to be announced in February 2020.
