How you can attend designer runways at Australian Fashion Week 2026
words by daisy henry
Australian Fashion Week’s consumer runway lineup is here.
Earlier this year, the Australian Fashion Council (AFC) officially announced the first round of designers slated to present at Australian Fashion Week (AFW) 2026. Taking place from May 11 to 15, AFW will be held at the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia (a departure from its previous home at Carriageworks) and off-site locations around Sydney.
From today, members of the public can purchase tickets to AFW’s consumer runways. In 2025, the first year the event was governed by the AFC, Fashion Week ran as a ‘trade show’, where all runways operated on an invitation basis, limiting attendance to media, fashion buyers and other members of the industry.

However, in a bid to make the event more accessible, this year will feature six ticketed runways open to the public. It will be made up of four solo showcases and two group presentations, operating alongside AFW’s ‘by invitation’ shows. As a media partner for the event, we can’t wait for Sydney to be taken over by Rode mics and street style fanfare.
Leading the public schedule on Monday, May 11 is an offsite solo showcase from industry heavyweight, Carla Zampatti, followed by Hansen and Gretel presented by Shark Beauty on Tuesday. On Wednesday, maximalist fashion label Mariam Seddiq will take to the runway, while Iordanes Spyridon Gogos will bring its signature colour and creativity on Thursday.

Thursday will also feature two curated group showcases with see-now-buy-now collections from a range of modern Australian brands, including Bec and Bridge, Friends with Frank, Henne and Silk Laundry, with more to be announced.
There will be additional consumer events, including panel talks and masterclasses, like the Shark Beauty Hair Masterclass on Thursday May 14. This will give people access to leading hair experts, hair tools and the trends shaping AFW.

The week will officially kick off with a Welcome to Country on Monday May 11, at the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia, followed by two dedicated runways presented by Create NSW featuring Buluuy Mirrii and Van Ermel Scherer. Public attendees can register for a free ‘Fashion Pass’, offering the chance to attend the opening ceremony, early ticket access, exclusive invitations and more.
