Unbridled creativity reigned supreme.

Every year, Melbourne’s finest student designers take to the runway to show the culmination of their hard work. And for many punters, it’s one of the most highly anticipated events of the week.

This year was no different, with creative and technically impressive collections on show by student designers from  Hill Institute, Holmesglen Institute, Kangan Institute, The Master’s Institute for Creative Education, RMIT University and Whitehouse Institute of Design.

To finish up proceedings, Helena Dong from RMIT was announced the recipient of the MFW 2018 Student Award. The award is an accolade that recognises a student’s excellence in research and development, innovation, construction and potential to contribute to the future growth of the industry.

We headed backstage before the show to see some of the designs up close and personal. Can’t wait to see what this talented group comes up with next.
