Bardot is going into voluntary administration
Words by Indah Dwyer
It’s a jungle out there.
The label is the next retailer to add to the list of fashion stores across Australia that have been suffering in this economic climate.
According to appointed administrators, it is due to financial reasons that Bardot has to go forward with the administration. In a retail world that is cluttered with discounts – regardless of the brand’s online sales – it is impossible to keep up with the competition.
The company has been open since 1996, opening 72 stores across the nation and employs 800 staff in that time. They are now focusing on re-allocation opportunities for staff wherever possible.
Bardot’s administration team is seeking to reassure customers that store trading will, for now, be business as usual.
