It’s time to face the facts: Crocs are inescapable.
Once reviled as footwear’s greatest shame, the-shoes-that-shall-not-be-named are now one of the fashion world’s favourite things to update.
The brand’s latest collaboration is with Japanese retailer BEAMS, and the result is both bizarre and bedazzled. But we’re not ashamed to admit that we can actually see ourselves rocking some of these new styles.
With ten new additions, the black and white, jewel encrusted platforms are surprisingly the most conventional of the bunch.
Also appearing are grey and tan styles with fringe and lace-up details, teal and violet Classic Pocket Clogs – complete with a bum-bag-esque zip pouch for storing your tiny valuables – and a design featuring a transparent plastic visor.
Of course, if you’re not ready to brave the brand recognition that comes with a classic, albeit heavily blinged-up pair of Crocs, you’ll also find the strappy pink or silver Isabella Glitter Sandals.
The collection will drop online and in BEAMS stores across Japan on April 19.
