Behind the scenes with Elk’s winter collection, Equinox

The finished product is as good as the process.

If you haven’t heard of Melbourne label, Elk, then your winter wardrobe won’t be as warm as ours.

They’ve released their winter collection for 2015, Equinox, and it’s all about balance. Equinox refers to the time when the sun crosses the celestial equator, and day and night are the same length. Happens twice a year.

You can see the inspiration in the jewel-toned colour palette, luscious knits and throw-on basics. It’s geometric and graphic but everything looks so damn soft. See? Balance.

The finished product is as good as the process. We went behind the scenes for the lookbook shoot. Though the clothes anchor the collection, Elk’s leather bags, shoes, and statement jewellery push everything a little bit further.

Winter skin, cherry lips and tousled locks looked pretty fresh against the pieces. Elk are all about movement and it was pretty cool to see those clothes in flight.

Take a peek and rug up.
