A thief stole Lupita Nyong’o’s $150,000 pearl Oscars dress

Let us all take a moment’s silence to commemorate the best Oscars dress there ever was.

Lupita Nyong’o’s Calvin Klein number – made with over 6,000 Akoya pearls and worth over $150,000 – has been stolen, straight from her hotel room.

The thief allegedly crept into the actress’ room at West Hollywood’s The London hotel (while thankfully, Nyong’o wasn’t present) and somehow inconspicuously made off with a buttload of pearls. Police are currently scanning security footage in an attempt to identify the culprit.

What makes this crime so abhorrent is that we’re almost 100 per cent certain the dress will never be worn again and destroyed for its thousands of pearls.
