An itinerary to maximise your time at Vogue American Express Fashion’s Night Out
Thank us later.
Vogue American Express Fashion’s Night Out is just around the corner. And along with a few extra vowels, this year’s VAEFNO has a whole lot on offer.
For those uninitiated (what have you been doing?) VAEFNO is a huge night of fashion and shopping that runs worldwide.
This year’s Melbourne edition has over 400 retailers participating across Melbourne CBD. Undoubtedly, you’ll need to be prepared.
The good news is that VAEFNO’s dress code for 2016 is sports luxe, so those sneakers that’ll help you last all the way from 5-10pm are not only approved, but encouraged.
And the best news? We’ve planned your entire night for you.
NB: You’ll need to move quickly to keep to schedule and please, for the love of god, don’t drive. Unless you’re not into free champagne, of course.
The Itinerary
5pm – Start the night fashionably on time at Bourke Street Mall for the Launch Moment.
5:30pm – Head straight to Little Bourke Street to score a sweet vantage point for the Emporium Melbourne’s Opening Runway.
6:00pm – 6:30pm – Mentally map out all your Spring OOTDs while watching all the looks on the runway.
6:30pm – Promptly head to Sneakerboy. They have 15% off storewide. This will mean queues.
6:45pm – On to Bassike down Rankins Lane for some luxurious basics and free drinks. Make a beeline for the sale section where you can grab a further 20% off what’s already reduced.
7:00pm – If you can’t sustain yourself purely on free champers, taste-testers and fairy floss (available from The Daily Edited pop-up, ground floor of Emporium FYI) it’s time to break for dinner and restore your energy. Emporium food court can help you out here. (Cough, Jimmy Grants, cough.)
7:30pm – Straight back into it at The Strand. Head to Habbot for complimentary bubbles as you peruse the collection of Italian leather shoes. Fall in love with the new season, you’ll get 15% off.
7:45pm – Next stop is Gorman with a lovely 20% off full price items. If it’s already a flurry of crazed Gorman fans, move on. You’ll have plenty of opportunities to drop in again later on, at either the Melbourne Central or Emporium stores.
8:00pm – Now you’ve warmed up, it’s a good time to mentally prepare for jeans shopping. Slip into Nobody Denim to stock up and be prepared to put your 25% discount to good use.
8:15pm – Time for a pit-stop to prevent you literally dropping from shopping. Head to the ground floor of Emporium to have some fun in the GIF booth. It’s like a photo booth, only better.
8:30pm – In Emporium’s Sass & Bide you’ll find 15% off full price items, as well as some treats and champagne (ofc) to sweeten the deal. And if you spend over $50, you’ll receive cute patches to customise the denim you just bought.
8:45pm – Swing by Manning Cartell for 15% off the new season.
9:00pm – Time to rehydrate. In case you missed all the free bubbles, stop in at the Champagne Station on level 2 of Emporium to get a(nother) glass.
9:01pm – Move on to Melbourne Central. Nique has just set up shop with a new store and they’re throwing a real shop-warming with 25% off storewide.
9:15pm – You can’t head out of MC without stocking up on Calvin Klein basics when they’re 30% off.
9:30pm – Worked up a sweat yet? The Mecca Beauty Wonderland will take care of the retouches for you. You’ll find it in the spring-themed sanctuary where everything is free, otherwise known as The Hub at City Square.
9:50pm – If you can ever leave that magical place, make your way down Collins Street, detouring via Flinders Lane for 20% off at Life with Bird.
10pm – Finish your night in the aptly named State of Grace at 477 Collins Street. Find the secret entrance to the underground bar and get a special VAEFNO $15 cocktail with the password ‘I found Fall from Grace’.
If this itinerary is not your jam, no stress. There’s a bunch more sales, specials and activations to check out around the city. Here’s the list, go nuts.
